    this is a tough one. It relies on the default web browser being able
    to intercept and redirect "file://" urls to the native file browser.
    It works in some cases...

    I see this in ubuntu 10.04 too. Not sure at this point if it's a
    limitation of air; I think the image itself is a transparent PNG.
