Via Tender: Lag while typing

Assigned to Tender issue #49. As reported in Tender:
We need to improve performance of the username completion code. How do we do so? Or, should we add a pref to disable it on slower machines?I'm using 0.8.4 and I've noticed that most of the times when I'm typing in the text box there is an awful amount of lag between what I type and what is shown.
Have you guys increased your parsing of the text box?

I'm not seeing any lag lately. I think maybe this has improved in 0.10. For now I'm marking this as resolved.
