"Follow" button in user profile doesn't always reflect true following state

It's really a problem with Twitter, where you have to make a request to look-up following state. I did this for the usermenu. I bet the big button in the profile popup is using the data which comes in the user's profile JSON, which is just plain inaccurate.
for now, either drop it or fix it. dropping it will be faster, and the functionality is in the user menu available from the cog button in the profile popup.
